The house design is a combination of a traditional and contemporary style. The largest part of the house to the front is a stone fronted containing the main reception rooms and bedrooms. White coloured aluminium clad windows with a Georgian type glazing bar were used. The rear of the house is a real contrast. The main living space is a light filled open plan area. The window and door units are stained Pine internally and a graphite colour externally. An impressive sunroom with a flat roof has fixed screens on one side with two large bi-fold doors on opposite sides which can be opened up to create an airy garden room with a seamless connection to the outdoors.

This project was a great challenge and utilised almost all of our aluclad products including tilt and turn windows, bay windows, glazed roof with curtain wall profile, fixed window screens, French doors, bi-folding doors and hardwood entrance doors.

The neighbourhood includes Ronan Keating and members of pop band Westlife and for this up market home only the best quality products would be acceptable. Solid hardwood sliding sash windows, painted cream, were chosen to compliment the subtle yellow brick and are framed in solid cut granite cills and surrounds. Six bedrooms are located over the 1st and 2nd floors which are all en-suite, and two of which have French doors opening onto large balconies.

A double garage with coach house style garage doors provides a large storage area and overhead is a self-contained apartment or nanny accommodation which is accessed through its own entrance door.

As part of the joinery package, all the internal bespoke Oak doors are of a ‘Shaker’ style with a mix of solid, and glazed units. Of course no Kingsbridge project would be complete without a one of our impressive front doors with decorative side-lights and arched fan-light.

The external joinery package included timber sliding sash windows, hardwood front and back doors, french doors and a large roof-light. Two over two sash windows set in granite surrounds form a traditional country style home. The focal point of the front elevation is the impressive Georgian style hardwood Mahogany front door with pillars which was designed by the client.

Internally, Kingsbridge supplied and fitted all the hardwood doors and frames with ornate antique handles, hinges and locks. The main reception rooms were fitted with traditional working window shutters which are a real feature and add to the grandeur of this home.

With carbon taxes on the horizon, energy ratings have become a major factor in new build projects and the architect was determined to optimise the overall rating of the build.

The house is a traditional two storey Georgian design with an arched single front door. Glazed french doors and three arched feature windows will make the kitchen a light filled space. The impressive main living room incorporates a huge double doors/bay window.

To be allowed the opportunity to tender for this project any interested company had to prove the credentials of their sliding sash windows (more on sliding sash windows). Kingsbridge were able to meet all criteria to win the contract;

Located on the land of what was previously the Salesian Orders’ Warrenstown Agricultural College, the site was carefully positioned on a ready-made mature site with views over Dunsany Castle (the family home of Saint Oliver Plunkett) and Killeen Castle’s championship golf course. This architecturally designed home was planned to incorporate 4 main bedrooms, 3 reception rooms a guest bedroom and farm office along with a substantial kitchen and sunroom.

With the emphasis on energy efficiency, the architect and client opted for an airtight timber framed build and selected triple glazed aluminium clad casement windows and pre-finished hardwood doors from Kingsbridge to compliment it. Alu Clad windows coupled with the monocouche plaster finish also met the desire for a maintenance free exterior.

This home is a great example of a modern build that combines many people’s criteria of being;
